Popular Pakistani TV morning show Roshan Sawera launched by Channel 92 in May 2016 was abruptly discontinued on the Independence Day for unknown reasons. The show was hosted by ‘Doli Ki Ayegi Baraat’ fame Natasha Ali.
Based in Lahore, 92 News HD infotainment channel, popularly also known as Channel 92, is a relatively new arrival on the Pakistani electronic media landscape. Launched in the year 2015, the channel claims to be the first Pakistani HD TV channel with reporters in more than 300 cities of Pakistan.
Channel 92’s Facebook page had announced in May 2016 that a new morning show was set to be aired under the name Roshan Sawera and Natasha Ali would be hosting the show.
Natasha had performed pretty well as an anchor and the show appeared to be going really well with its signature style of breaking the persistent stereotype of wedding bells finery and superstitious tales about witchcrafts.
The show had enjoyed reasonable ratings that went up to No 4 in the running when the Ainak Wala Jin cast was invited. The show was adorned with extravagant sets and outfits by ‘Lajwanti.’ Chef Munira was hosting the cooking segment which was sponsored by Kisan Cooking oil.
The topics discussed in the show had also been well researched and insightful. The last show on air was about the cadets in the Pakistan Airforce Academ y. Natasha had traveled to Risalpur to interview the Air Force male and female cadets there for the Azadi celebration special.
But all of a sudden the host Natasha and the crew were fired for unknown reasons after the Independence Day transmission. It is too early to comment on reasons behind the mass firing. Channel 92 News administration could not be contacted for further details.
