Iranian athletes have won a total of 68 medals since 1948, all in just in four sports wrestling, weightlifting,taekwondo, and athletics.Iran, first participated at theOlympic Games in 1948, and has sent athletes to compete in everySummer Olympic Games since then, except for 1980 and 1984 due to boycotts. In 2016, Kimia Alizadah Zenoorin became the first Iranian women to win an Olympic Medal by taking taekwondo bronze in the 57kg category on Thursday.
