Water began flowing again at Italian Capital's legendary Trevi fountain after $ 2.4 million restoration.
Designed by Italian artist Nicola Salvi, it is the largest Baroque fountain filmed in many Hollywood blockbusters including Roman Holiday and La Dolce Vita. Restoration work began in June 2014 and was completed in November 2015.
Trevi was constructed in 1629, at the site of an ancient Roman Aqua duct 'Virgo' constructed in 19 BC during Augustus rule which served the city of Rome for some 400 years.
According to a famous legend, tossing a coin into the fountain ensures a return visit or your wish granted. Three thousand Euros are estimated to be thrown each day in the fountain.
